Betfair Tingle Creek Festival – 8 & 9 December
If you would like to enter our FREE competition for the chance to win a pair of grandstand tickets to the Betfair Tingle Creek Festival please enter your name and email address below!
The two-day pre-Christmas jump racing extravaganza is the perfect way to get you in the festive mood.
The flagship race is the Betfair Tingle Creek, which is run on the Saturday and attracts crowds of racing fans and horses from afar.
The day combines Grade 1 racing with a heart-warming festive atmosphere. The two Grade 1 races are the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase and the Tingle Creek Chase, both run over 2 miles. The Tingle Creek Chase is one of the key races of the season, won in 2016 by the Willie Mullins-trained Un De Sceaux. The race is steeped in history and has an impressive list of previous champions with the likes of Desert Orchid, Moscow Flyer, Kauto Star, Sprinter Sacre and Sire de Grugy taking their place on the role of honour. The event was first run in 1979, and named in honour of Tingle Creek, a popular National Hunt racehorse in the 1970s.
As a new addition to this year’s Tingle Creek Day, there will be a Bavarian Beer Hall for a true festive experience. The hall will be open for all ticket holders to enjoy, no additional ticket required. Or upgrade your ticket to include a pint and a bratwurst for just £10.
You can make your Christmas raceday extra special by soaking up the atmosphere from one of the award-winning restaurants or from your own Private Box.
Equus, the fine dining restaurant, is located on the second floor of the main grandstand with fantastic views of the track. Or private box packages available from £270. For a more relaxed dining experience the ‘Legends’ package at £150pp is a great value option.
In the Premier Enclosure diners can enjoy The Brasserie, the racecourse’s walk-up restaurant, and the Moet & Chandon Champagne Bar also serves food. Alternatively, located in the Grandstand Enclosure, The Market Place offers tastings from around the world.
There are numerous bars across the site for hot and cold drinks.
Gates on the Saturday open at 10:30am, with the first race at approximately 12.30pm and last race 3.30pm. Tickets are on sale, starting from £25, group booking discounts available. Under 18s go FREE when accompanied by an adult.
